Ombudsmans Office Needs Volunteers!

In speaking with the Regional Director in Cuyahoga County at the Ombudsman’s Office, we have been informed of the following: there are currently 7 Ombudsman to cover 5 Counties. Cuyahoga alone, has 100 nursing homes. They do have a volunteer program that they will give 14 hour training and 2 hours in the field. They hope to have a volunteer ombudsman in every nursing home that will go in and help with meaningful resident and family councils and also to handle non complicated complaints. If there is a complicated complaint the paid Ombudsman will come in and assist who has had more in depth training.

You don’t have to have someone in a nursing home to be a volunteer. This is where we can certainly help make care better.

They need help! Read more here
