Some facilities were not making it transparent how many covid deaths they had. They refused to give this information and went to blame HIPAA laws for not releasing a general number that identifies no one. Families wanted this information especially before choosing a nursing home during covid. WCPO fought what the families could not. Now, it is clear this type of information is to be accessible to the public.
