Hospital Confirms Some Facilities Taking Covid Positive Residents During Spike, Yet Families Locked Out to Keep Covid Out?

See letter below from a hospital, this raised many questions…..

• Why didn’t we have one facility taking Covid Patients?

• Why were families locked out when it was directly being brought into some facilities?

• Families were told they could not have restricted, limited visits, until there were no Covid cases, this would make the wait longer.

• Did the facilities notify the families they were taking Covid patients?

• How different is this from New York?

“Thank you for taking the time and discussing your mother’s discharge plan with me. As discussed I have listed below the updated facilities that are currently accepting Covid positive patients. If you can review and pick at least three locations and we will send over referrals to see if they have openings & can clinically accept. I have requested the bedside nurse give you a call to discuss clinical updates."
